ABOUT CELESTE
My name is Celeste Cari and I am a counsellor based in Wangaratta. I have completed a Diploma of Counselling, a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) (Honours), and a Master of Health (Research Practice); and I have a background working in various roles throughout the mental health sector. As a counsellor, I have a unique standpoint to offer, bringing both formal education and a lived experience of recovery to my practice. I also have an interest in research, and I aim to remain well-informed about the evidence-base regarding interventions for mental health and wellbeing.
I offer a warm, humanistic approach to counselling, and I am very excited to offer a service that is not gatekept by our healthcare system. There is never a “one size fits all” approach to counselling. It is therefore my intention is to listen to you and to support you to explore evidence-based interventions, in order to find something that works for you and your unique circumstances.
I am also passionate about education and preventative health, and therefore also hope to provide psychoeducation on a larger scale. If we are all in a position to understand mental health, and how to support one another, we will be then able to address any concerns before further, unnecessary deterioration occurs.
Finally, I am also passionate about women’s mental health. I believe it is important to consider the physiological, social, and environmental factors that may impact women’s mental health, such as: women’s health issues, caregiving responsibilities, body image pressures, and other social and cultural expectations. If your mental health is affected by any of these issues please know that you are not alone and support is available here.
